As online commerce in the United States continues to grow, the paper and cardboard waste generated by the process is projected to follow the same trend. Over the years, it has been our observation that a large number of previously used cardboard boxes, envelopes, packing peanuts, and packing papers are often disposed of despite still being in an acceptable condition.
TAKLITE participates in an experimental program which aims to reuse shipping materials when possible. These reused materials are often sourced from customer returns, failed deliveries, and other miscellaneous inbound shipments our facility may receive.
Using this process, we estimate that we can reduce the size and frequency of our inbound supplies shipments which means we can reduce our carbon footprint.
If you receive your shipment in a box that seems reused, please note that it is likely a result of this experimental program. We will never choose to reuse a shipping box or envelope which may compromise the safety of the package's contents.
While only an extremely small percentage of our orders actually use a recycled box, we do extend the option to opt-out of the process for those who wish. Simply email us with your order information and we'll flag your order to use new supplies.
